This policy explains how the Saint Lucia National Housing Corporation (NHC, "we") collects, uses, retains and protects your personal data when you use this Property Sales portal. We handle your data in line with the Data Protection Act (No. 11 of 2011) of Saint Lucia and our obligations as a statutory corporation.

Information we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and telephone number.
  • Profile and application details: identification type and number, National Insurance number, date of birth, address, household, employment and income information, and any documents you upload in support of an application.
  • Usage and security data: limited technical information such as your IP address and the actions taken on your account, kept for security and audit purposes.

How we use it

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To receive, assess and process your property application through to completion.
  • To communicate with you about your account and application.
  • To keep the service secure and to maintain an audit trail of account activity.

Lawful basis

We process your data because it is necessary for NHC to carry out its public functions in the allocation and sale of housing and land, and to meet legal obligations that apply to us.

How long we keep it

As a statutory corporation, our records are public records. We retain them in line with our record-keeping obligations under the National Archives Authority of Saint Lucia regime. This means records connected to an application, payment or deed are kept for as long as the law requires, and are not deleted on request where a retention obligation applies.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and correct: view and update your details from your profile.
  • Get a copy of your data: download an export of your information before closing your account.
  • Deactivate or close your account: switch off access temporarily or permanently. Closing does not delete records we must retain.
  • Request erasure: ask us to erase your personal data. Requests are reviewed by staff. Where the law allows, we anonymise your data; where a retention obligation applies, we keep the records and explain why.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share it with the service providers who host and run this portal on our behalf, and where we are required to do so by law.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, access is restricted to authorised staff, and account actions are logged. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please keep your password confidential.

Cookies

We use essential cookies only, to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
